Saddleback SONET Fiber Optic Rings:
Saddleback Communications’ business customers are is serviced by dual OC-48 SONET fiber optic rings originating at Saddleback Communications’ its central office facility. The SONET rings are bi-directional or “self-healing”, so any break in the fiber will not isolate any service point along the route as that point would then be fed from the opposite direction.
Saddleback Central Office Facilities
Saddleback Communications services customers from its carrier class central office facility. Central office services are protected by eight (8) hours of battery backup and triple redundant 50 KW diesel generators. Cooling is provided by redundant chilled water cooling systems. Fire protection is provided by a FM 200 waterless gas fire suppression system. The Saddleback central office is a secure facility with 24 hour video surveillance.
Inter-exchange Carrier Services
For Inter-exchange (long distance) services, the Customer’s provider of choice may provide Inter-exchange carrier services such as dedicated or switched voice long distance, Toll Free services, dedicated Internet access services and WAN data services such as MPLS, ATM, and Private Line. In these cases, the selected Inter-exchange provider will place an order with Saddleback Communications for the local transport (“last mile” access) portion of the service.
